Week 3 - 🐎🍷
Today, I'm going to be looking at Bojack Horseman, a comedy show. Some small spoilers ahead.
I'm specifically going to be listing out some moments that I liked from this show:
Neal McBeal, the Navy SEAL Seal
Bojack gets in a lot of trouble with the media when he refuses to give a box of muffins to a person who called dibs at the grocery store. This person is actually Neal McBeal, a seal who is a Navy SEAL, returning from 10 years of duty. Neal goes on the news and complains about Bojack and naturally, everyone supports the retired naval officer rather than the drug addict pseudo-celebrity. This turns into an enjoyable episode and interesting rivalry between the two animals.

Princess Carolyn Dating a Child
Princess Carolyn, a cat human thing, started dating a man named "Vincent Adultman" during seasons one and two. Everyone but her clearly notices that Vincent is two children stacked on top of each other under a trench coat (shown below). Nevertheless, she thinks that Vincent is a very sweet and mature adult male. Even though Vincent is a child, he provides constructive advice for Bojack and Princess Carolyn throughout the beginning of the show, even comforting Bojack when he realizes he can no longer have a relationship with Princess Carolyn.
Every day, it gets a little easier. But you gotta do it every day. That's the hard part. But it does get easier.
At the end of season two, Bojack takes up running. I've forgotten why, but it was probably to get in shape. Bojack becomes dismayed when he realizes how hard running is. Some of his direct quotes while running include: "Lungs on fire", "Running is terrible", and "Everything is the worst" (also "Oh, my god, oh my god"). He eventually collapses on the ground when an old and seemingly wise baboon-looking animal comes over to Bojack. He tells him "it gets easier". "Every day, it gets a little easier. But you gotta do it every day. That's the hard part. But it does get easier." This statement gives a little bit of hope for Bojack as well as the viewers and serves as a good marker of Bojack's journey in self-improvement.
